Overview

Advance Steel training for new users, teaching the key functionality, tools, commands and workflows available in Autodesk Advance Steel for designing 3D steel structures and models.

Working on a sample model being built from the ground up, you’ll learn how to use Advance Steel to create beams, columns, plates, and connection elements such as bolts, holes and welds. You’ll also learn how to produce Bills of Materials, schedules and drawings for your model.

The Armada approach to Online training

When you attend our Live Online Training with Armada, you’re participating in a real Autodesk-authorised course, hosted by a real trainer, in real time.

You can:

  • See and hear our trainer and other virtual delegates participating in the training.
  • Allow our trainer and the other virtual delegates to see and hear you (if you have a webcam, and you’re agreeable).
  • Interact by speaking, using chat, or raising your ‘virtual hand’ if you need assistance.
  • Share your screen with our trainer to show them what you’re seeing.

Your experience will be as close as is possible to actually being in the classroom…

  • The training will follow the same syllabus, and will be hosted by the same Autodesk Certified Instructors (ACIs), as our classroom-based courses.
  • We’ll post you a training guide, and send you all the information you need to participate in the training. We’ll even post you a headset and microphone if you need one.
  • You’ll carry out exercises using the software you’re being trained in, assisted by our trainer. If you don’t have access to the software, we’ll send you a link to fully-functional trial software that you can download and install.
  • You'll receive an e-certificate directly from Autodesk confirming successful completion of an accredited course. Click here to see a sample of the certificate you receive.
  • You’ll be entitled to 30 days’ email support from your trainer.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
